Maya Pramatarova defended her dissertation in RATI (GITIS) and lectures on theater in time and space in Bulgaria, Russia and the United States. This lecture has been presented in December in RATI (GITIS), Moscow and St. Petersburg State Academy of Theatre.
New York is a city in constant motion, where on the crossroads between European and American theater, between experiment and classics, document and painting take place performances that anticipate theater of the future.
New York theater is not just Broadway, but also stage for experimental search for new drama and directing, and Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) – the territory of the European theater alternative in America.
During the lecture you will see excerpts of new performances of masters of theater, opera, film and contemporary dance. Samples will be from the current repertoire of authors, directors and actors such as Robert Wilson, Julie Taymor, William Kentridge, Ivo van Hove, Sam Shepard, Elizabeth Lecompte, etc.
