Arlekin Players’ Inaugural Playwright Intensive seeks submissions from immigrants in the community who wish to give voice to their story!
The intensive itself is free of charge thanks to generous contributions from Arlekin’s community. Five playwrights will be chosen to participate.
Working with our guest playwright and facilitator Yulia Tupikina, the program will teach you how to create a play for your story. The program includes an eight-day, in-person intensive from March 22 – 29 from 7:00-10:30pm at Arlekin Players Theatre in Needham, followed by eight weeks of online support with the playwright through May 15. Final work will be considered for inclusion in our inaugural ArlekinFest Staged Readings in June 2020 using members of the Arlekin company of actors.
We are particularly seeking to give voice to the stories of Russian Immigrants in the United States. The Intensive will be in Russian.
To be considered, please submit your one-page immigrant story or a micro-play (12-point font size), which can include any number of characters, but should have a setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. Submissions can be in Russian or in English.
Please fill out this form by March 13, 2020 to be considered https://forms.gle/e9FY9fYUL1EjcN4N9
